At JCS, our third-year students have taken their culinary journey to the next level by diving into the rich and diverse cuisine of Indonesia. As part of their practical coursework, they showcased their growing expertise by preparing a variety of iconic Indonesian dishes, turning our kitchens into a celebration of flavors and culture.

The students meticulously crafted dishes such as the fiery Ayam Penyet Pedas, a smashed fried chicken served with sambal that packs a serious punch. Its spicy kick left everyone craving more! On the sweeter side, Rujak, a traditional fruit salad with a tangy tamarind sauce, brought the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and spicy to the table.

Each dish the students prepared told a unique story of Indonesia’s rich culinary heritage, blending spices, textures, and techniques that highlight the nation’s diverse food culture. This hands-on experience allowed our budding chefs to connect with the global culinary world, transforming their theoretical knowledge into a truly international experience.

Through this exercise, not only did the students hone their cooking techniques, but they also deepened their appreciation for the traditions and flavors of another country. By the end of the session, the kitchens were filled with the tantalizing aromas of Indonesia, and the experience left an indelible mark on everyone involved.

At JCS, we believe that food is a bridge between cultures, and this practical served as the perfect way to explore that connection while empowering our students with the skills they need to succeed in the culinary world.

Stay tuned for more updates as our students continue to embark on their global culinary adventures!
